A native of San Francisco, Ms. Kim made her solo debut at the age of seven with the Korean Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra in Seoul, Korea. More recently, she was a winner of Astral’s 2012 National Auditions and is a current soloist with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and Bakersfield Symphony. She has also appeared as a soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Louisville Symphony, and Albany Symphony Orchestra, and she has performed and taught at numerous international music festivals. Ms. Kim recently appeared at the Library of Congress, with “Curtis On Tour,” and for the United Nations and Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. She has received multiple national and international awards and holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Curtis Institute of Music. While at Curtis, she has served as concertmaster of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, a mentor in the Curtis Community Engagement program, and was awarded the prestigious Milka Violin Artist Prize. Her NAXOS recording of George Tsontakis’s Unforgettable with the Albany Symphony Orchestra will be released in 2017.
