More than one hundred SHS congregants and members of the Society Hill community attended a very special award ceremony at SHS on Saturday, February 7 from 8 to 10 PM.  Partners for Sacred Places/Philadelphia Regional Fund representatives were on hand to present us with an official certificate documenting our receipt of the $80,000 matching grant we have recently been awarded.  Over the course of the next two years, we must raise the matching funds and complete several restoration projects critical to the preservation of our beautiful historic building.

Alan Greenberger, FAIA, Executive Director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, spoke about his exciting vision for the city of Philadelphia.

After Mr. Greenberger's speech, guests, mingled and enjoyed a delicious dessert and champagne reception.  Many thanks to our generous food sponsors (Chef's Market, Whole Foods Market, and Homemade Goodies by Roz: A Kosher Bakery) who donated gourmet pastries, brownies, and cookies in honor of this special occasion.
