Eat an early dinner at home, and then bring the whole family to join together in Society Hill Synagogue's main sanctuary to mark the end of Shabbat with a traditional Havdalah ceremony - wine, twisted candles, and spices.
Older children will be selected to light and hold the Havdalah candles during the ceremony in a darkened Sanctuary, and all are encouraged to bring their own Besamim (spice) boxes for us all to share together.
But wait - there's more - kids are encouraged to come in their Pajamas! (Parents too...). We'll enjoy a few songs accompanied by guitar, read a story, then enjoy some hot cider and homemade cookies.
Whether you mark Havdalah at home every week, or are interested in learning more about it...please join us this special evening.
