SHS Selects a Cantor

We are very pleased to announce that Cantor Bob Freedman has been selected as Society Hill Synagogue's Cantor. As you may remember, Cantor Freedman led High Holiday services with Rabbi Winokur last fall and has been officiating at other selected services throughout the year, alone or with Rabbi Winokur or Rabbi Berman. Cantor Freedman has also been training our B’nai Mitzvah students and has co-officiated at all B'nai Mitzvah services this past year.  Starting in July, Cantor Freedman will be taking on the traditional cantorial functions at SHS including officiating at Shabbat and Holiday services, continuing to train B’nai mitzvah students, instructing music in the Sunday and Hebrew Schools, providing educational opportunities for adults, and generally enhancing the musical and spiritual life of our congregation. Please join us as we welcome Cantor Freedman and his wife Sally to our SHS community.
