Over the years, SHS has featured exciting voices from different areas of Jewish thought who have given presentations and workshops about a variety of compelling topics. This program is generously underwritten by the Jay R. Baer Fund, named in memory of a beloved past SHS president.
Our scholars in residence over the years have included:
- Arnold Eisen, a leading scholar of American Jewish life and chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary.
- Leonard Fein, columnist, teacher, and social justice activist, and the author of many books on Jewish values and social action.
- Dr. Ron Wolfson, a leading writer on relational Judaism and engagement within the Jewish community, and the Fingerhut Professor of Education at American Jewish University.
- Noam Zion, Director of the Shalom Hartman Institute’s Resource Center for Jewish Continuity, and a leading writer about Jewish rituals and practice in the home.
