We all need support sometimes. Holding and caring for one other during these times is at the heart of the Society Hill Synagogue community.
Our Hesed Committee — Caring for Our Community (previously “God’s Unfinished Business,” or “GUB”) is leading our new efforts to support the members of Society Hill Synagogue. If you or someone you know in our congregation could use a meal, a visit, a ride, or just some extra care, please click the button below to let the Hesed Committee chairs and our clergy know.
Our committee chairs, Laurie KrivoNatalie LandroDebbie Stewart, and Julie Wilson, need your help!
You can join our volunteers to:
  • Call fellow members to wish them Shabbat Shalom and check-in; you do this from home so you can contribute if you are home-bound,
  • Visit a member in the hospital,
  • Attend Monday evening zoom minyan,
  • Make a meal for a congregant who just had a baby or is recuperating from illness,
  • Write a condolence card or attend a shivah minyan,
  • Shop or deliver food for someone who can’t get out,
  • Give a ride to the doctor,
  • Provide companionship to someone at home, or
  • Just be available to help when something comes up.
You can also help by being our eyes and ears. Let us know when you or another member could use support or just need a little love and kindness.
Email us at hesed[at]societyhillsynagogue.org to join our volunteer team and/or to notify us about support that might help a fellow member!
